Regarded as a highlight of the British motorsport calendar,  Mission Motorsport, The Forces’ Motorsport Charity has today announced the eagerly anticipated dates for Race of Remembrance (RoR) 2024.

The events will be run over the 8-10th November 2024. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the charity’s flagship event, and is a weekend of reflection, and community spirit combined with a fantastic weekend of motorsport. The weekend’s activities are open to anybody who wishes to commemorate the Remembrance weekend and participate in a poignant pitlane Service of Remembrance.

Mission Motorsport will be holding a variety of events across Remembrance weekend, 8-10th November 2024. A time to reflect upon those lost in conflict and to support those who still remain, there will be a variety of activities including RoR Anglesey, Karting RoR and #YourROR (a fundraising campaign for those who wish to hold their own events). On Remembrance Sunday, all activity will pause for a Service of Remembrance which will be live-streamed from the pitlane at Anglesey Circuit Trac Mon at 11:00 hours.

James Cameron, CEO, Mission Motorsport said, “In March, Motorsport UK signed the Armed Forces Covenant, celebrating and underpinning the connection between motorsport and the Armed Forces community.  With events being held across the country, we are so proud to be announcing the 10th Race of Remembrance at Anglesey Circuit.  Over a decade of uplifting, engaging sport, centred around the important act of remembrance – of our fallen comrades, family members or friends, and to support those who remain, RoR provides a unique opportunity for all to participate in a very special, very poignant pitlane Remembrance Service as one community.  We are hugely grateful to the BRSCC and Anglesey Circuit who work so hard to stage this highlight of our sporting year.”

The charity’s Chairman, motorsport industry veteran Christopher Tate is delighted by the initial response to the 10th Race of Remembrance: “In all my 4 decades working in this sport, nothing comes close to this remarkable event for great racing, huge commitment by every person working in each of the 50+ race teams, nor the real meaning of this event and of the pitlane Sunday service. Every club racer in the UK should come and race here once in their career. I can guarantee that you will leave with a new set of feelings about motorsport, about our Armed Forces community – and about life more broadly.

Mission Motorsport will once again be partnering with the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) to deliver the 12 hour endurance race at Anglesey Circuit, Wales.  Following the format of previous races, the race itself will commence at 15:00 on Saturday 9th November, continuing late into the evening with an overnight suspension from 21:00. Resuming at 09:00 hours on Remembrance Sunday, the Safety Car will pause racing at 10:45 for an emotive service in the pitlane that brings competitors, race teams, spectators and support staff together as one community. The race will then continue before a winner is crowned at 15:30 when the race ends.

Entries for RoR Anglesey, managed by BRSCC, are scheduled to open on the 3rd June 2024. Priced at £2,900 per car, a deposit of £700 is required to secure your entry. Owing to its increased popularity, entries are expected to sell out quickly and competitors are advised to enter as soon as possible.

BRSCC COO, Paul McErlean said,  Race of Remembrance is an event that everyone within the BRSCC is proud and privileged to play a part in organising.  Working alongside Mission Motorsport and Anglesey Circuit for this landmark 10th running, we’re delighted to be able to support the great work the charity does on behalf of its beneficiaries. We’re looking forward to welcoming competitors and teams back to one of British motorsport’s best loved traditions in November.
