Current funding opportunities

With the generous support of MIA Members Andrew Everett and Titan Motorsport we have collated the below opportunities that we believe MIA members may benefit from. These opportunities are not restricted to Automotive but any sector that requires the capabilities of our high-performance engineering sector.

UK Wide Opportunities

 

 

  • Expression of Interest (EOI) competition - The Automotive Transformation Fund  (ATF) is a funding programme created to support the industrialisation and scale-up of a UK electrified vehicle supply chain. Find out more here.

  • The DRIVE35 programme builds on the UK Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Sector Plan, reaffirming its commitment to a zero-emission future. It includes an unprecedented £2 billion in grant funding available through 2030 to support automotive R&D, scale-up, and industry transformation.

  • Innovate UK Contracts for Innovation supports a range of competitions with public sector organisations and departments. Find out more here.

  • Innovate UK Business Growth– this can support you to innovate and partner with an RTO to complete an innovation project. You can receive up to £15k to support them with this. This is great way to be introduced to Innovate UK and find out about further funding calls to support a business innovate and grow - more information here.
 
 
  • Net Zero Innovation Portfolio - provides funding for low-carbon technologies and systems. Decreasing the costs of decarbonisation, the Portfolio will help enable the UK to end its contribution to climate change - more information here.
  
 
  • Internship Programme - WMG specialist internship programme supports businesses in a variety of manufacturing sectors, from developing new products to improving process efficiency and increased productivity - more information here.

Engagement Opportunities

  • At CTS - The Motorsport Engineering and Technology Show, that was held at Silverstone on 15th and 16th October 2025, Dan Bunting, Head of Business Development at APC, presented “DRIVE35: Discover your funding journey”. The presentation was tailored to the Motorsport and High-performance Engineering sector. The presentation slide are available here to view.

  • Investment to boost batteries and hydrogen vehicles - This competition is not open to the industry but your awareness with the project content could help with potential engagement opportunities. More information here.
