Honorary PresidentThe Rt Hon the Lord Astor of Hever PC DLLord Astor served in Government as Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Ministry of Defence) until May 2015, and was Honorary President of the MIA from 1996 until 2010. His tireless support for the motorsport industry, raising matters of value and encouraging intelligent, well-informed debate has helped steer a positive course for this UK industry. Lord Astor resumed his position as Honorary President in 2015 and has held it ever since.
ChairmanJames GraingerJames was the Chief Executive Officer of the Grainger & Worrall group until May 2023. At that time, in order to pursue his other business and personal interests, he successfully effected a sale of the business to a management buyout team. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with the worldwide motorsport and automotive industry, engaging with many of the global brands.
Vice ChairmanIain WightIain is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in high-technology sectors, particularly in performance automotive and motorsport. Holding senior positions within companies such as Bosch, Pi Research, Ricardo, Williams and InoBat. He now acts as a consultant and non-executive director for several organisations and has been actively involved with the MIA as Chairman from August 2017 and now as Vice Chairman since April 2023.
Chief ExecutiveChris AylettPast President of The Sports Industries Federation, with a broad portfolio of successful international business interests. Ex-driver/team owner.
Dick BennettsManaging Director, West Surrey Racing (WSR) - leading design company. Manufacturing, development & race team for Touring Cars and single seaters. International motor sport facility design (FIA approved). BRDC member.
David CunliffeManaging Director of DC Electronics in the UK and CEO DCE Inc. in the USA – leading manufacturers of high performance vehicle electrical systems for motorsport, military and automotive vehicles.
Alistair FergussonManaging Director, Alcon - leading designers and manufacturers of brake and clutch components for racing, rallying and performance road cars.
Alan GowChief Executive of the British Touring Car Championship . President of the FIA Touring Car Commission.
John KirkpatrickManaging Director, JK Motorsport Consultancy; Jim Russell Management. Life President of Association of Racing Driver Schools (ARDS). In January 2019, John was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the MIA for 25 years' loyal service to the motorsport industry.
Adrian MooreChief Executive Officer, Xtrac Appointed Chief Executive Officer of Xtrac in 2018, having been at the company for over 24 years. Xtrac are leading suppliers of gearbox and transmission components for international racing and rally cars. Based in Thatcham in the UK with operations in Indianapolis and Charlotte in the USA.
