MIA Member Convergent Science has shared the following press release.
Convergent Science hosting workshop on developing low-carbon transportation technologies through simulation Convergent Science is hosting the 2024 CONVERGE Applications Workshop: Solutions for Low-Carbon Transportation on June 11 at the Politecnico di Torino - Energy Center. Held in partnership with the SAE International Torino Section, this free one-day event will focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of innovative low-carbon transportation technologies. The workshop will feature speakers from organizations including Dumarey Automotive Italia S.p.A., GammaTech Engineering, CMT - Clean Mobility & Thermofluids, and Politecnico di Torino. The lineup of speakers will discuss their latest research on hydrogen engines, ducted fuel injection, low-carbon combustion, and advanced modeling techniques to accelerate technology development. In addition, Convergent Science engineers will demonstrate the simulation tools their CONVERGE CFD software offers for designing low-carbon technologies, such as burners, hydrogen storage tanks, and PEM fuel cells. “We’re thrilled to offer attendees the opportunity to hear about important advances in reducing carbon emissions from transportation straight from leading experts,” says Rainer Rothbauer, General Manager of Convergent Science GmbH. “CFD is one of the most powerful tools out there to help engineers develop sustainable mobility solutions, and we’re looking forward to showcasing the cutting-edge CFD research being conducted in Italy and around the globe.” The CONVERGE Applications Workshop will be followed by the CO2 Reduction for Transportation Systems Conference – The Road to Decarbonization on June 12–13 at the same venue. This multi-track conference will focus on CO2 reduction technologies for sustainable transportation systems, both in terms of powertrain efficiency enhancement and vehicle energy demand reduction.
