Invitation to join the United Kingdom-North Carolina Memorandum of Understanding Working Group Meeting and Reception

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and British American Business Council Carolinas are delighted to invite you to join an exclusive working group meeting focused on the memorandum of understanding between the UK and North Carolina, USA.

This event will provide the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of discussions between the Governments of the United Kingdom and the State of North Carolina on how to deepen trade and investment ties. 

It will be held at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday 22 June between 15:00 and 18:00 and will include:

• Opening remarks by Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, Manchester City Council Leader Bev Craig, and UK Minister for Exports, Lord Offord.

• A presentation from North Carolina Secretary of Commerce, Machelle Baker Sanders and Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina Vice President, Melissa Smith covering why North Carolina was recently ranked the number one US state in which to do business by CNBC, and the opportunities that exist for UK companies, including in state procurement.

• A fireside chat moderated by UK Trade Envoy Conor Burns and, Secretary Sanders, and featuring executives from leading UK companies, including TNEI, Zenobe and others.
Immediately following the working group meeting, please join us for a a networking reception generously supported byTNEI, Womble Bond Dickinson, and Zenobe. An optional tour of the Etihad Stadium will also be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Companies interested in expanding into the US market and who are specifically interested in trade and investment opportunities in North Carolina, particularly in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and life sciences.
