Reaction Engines achieves AS9100 aerospace quality management certification in boost to manufacturing maturity.

Reaction Engines is delighted to announce that it has achieved AS9100 rev D certification, the leading global quality management standard for the aerospace industry.  AS9100 rev D is released by the International Aerospace Quality Group. The standard is designed to provide defence and aerospace customers with assurance that the quality of products and services supplied meets the highest standards.

Already recognised as thermal management experts for solving industry’s hardest problems, achieving the accolade of AS9100 certification demonstrates Reaction Engines’ growing maturity as a supplier of the aerospace industry.

Michael Nixon, Head of Quality at Reaction Engines said: “Reaction Engines has significant experience in the design and manufacturing of innovative thermal management solutions in the aerospace, automotive and energy sectors. This certification demonstrates that we are meeting the exacting requirements of the aerospace industry and is a cornerstone of Reaction Engines’ approach to the industrialisation of our products and processes. Achieving AS9100 is a true reflection of the quality of the processes we have built in-house to support our growing aerospace and defence capability and unlocks further opportunities moving forward. The certification was supported by DNV, an independent expert in assurance and risk management.  DNV’s Area Manager – UK Certification Division, Andy Wilson, added: “It is fantastic to see Reaction Engines’ commitment to best practices and leading the way in their sector with the highest levels of commitment to quality and safety and doing the very best they can for their customers. I want to give them my personal congratulations and look forward to working with them in the future.”

AS/EN 9100 sets quality requirements for design, development, production, installation and servicing. Setting forth an industry-specific quality assurance model, it builds upon requirements to produce a globally harmonised standard that meets aerospace companies’ requirements worldwide. AS 9100 was the first standard available for use across the global aerospace community, providing requirements necessary to address both civil and military aviation and aerospace needs.
