The industry celebrates excellence at the 2022 Business Excellence Awards

The MIA’s annual Business Excellence Awards Dinner in association with AP Racing, took place at the Silverstone Wing on Wednesday 19th October 2022. The Awards Dinner closed the first day of MIA CTS2022 – Motorsport Engineering & Technology Show, with over 400 guests celebrating winners in seven categories. 
The Business of the Year Award (with annual sales over £5m) partnered by Xtrac, was presented to Multimatic. 2022 celebrates thirty years of Multimatic Motorsports’ success – 84 race wins and 8 championships. Multimatic believes being a strong, successful motorsport organisation is key to developing talent and technology. 
The second Business of the Year Award (with annual sales under £5m) partnered by Lestercast, was presented to Jenvey Dynamics. The world leader in the supply of fuel injection throttle bodies. For 30 years, Jenvey Dynamics been known for their eye for detail, exquisite precision engineering and a passion for innovative design – ‘excellence’ being the cornerstone of their success. 
The Teamwork Award partnered by Hypermotive, was presented to British Motorsports Marshals Club. British Marshals set the global standard for excellence and are well-deserving winners of this Award. From pits to paddock, track-side to race control, BMMC unpaid volunteers are essential to keep all motorsport meetings running safely and smoothly. They say it’s the closest you can get to the action …without being in the driving seat! 
The Technology & Innovation Award partnered by Ricardo, was presented to McLaren Applied. For over thirty years, McLaren Applied has set new standards in innovation for most of the world’s prestigious motorsport series. Their unheralded efforts continue to bring outstanding success to their partners and customers alike. 
The Export Achievement Award partnered by Nicholson McLaren Engines, was presented to Zircotec. Zircotec produce and develop ‘advanced thermal management solutions’ which deliver success in many fields including motorsport. They are well-recognised and trusted heat management experts, providing ultra-high performance Ceramic Coating & Heat Shielding technologies to motorsport and a variety of adjacent industries.

The New Markets Award partnered by Shiftec was presented to Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems. Building on their success in international motorsport, they have fully used the Halo Effect and diversified into Defence, Industrial and Construction, more recently embracing safety in the Money Handling sector.

The Service to the Industry Award presented by the MIA and was presented to Silverstone Park. An increasing number of Motorsport businesses are taking advantage of the stunning development of MEPC’s Silverstone Park, and the skills pool in the surrounding area. Both these factors help all those on the Park to succeed on track and to diversify into other sectors. Chris Aylett, CEO of the MIA, when congratulating all winners said "The level of Business Excellence you have achieved really sets a high, tough standard for others to follow – well done everyone. 2022-23 looks to be full of opportunities for our industry and we look forward to continuing to support and find new business for our growing membership community.”
