MIA Member Convergent Science has shared the following press release.

Global Forum on Simulation Innovation Taking Place in October

Convergent Science, a leading provider of engineering simulation software, is virtually hosting the 2024 CONVERGE CFD Conference (CFD24) on October 29–31. This conference will highlight how computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to design the future of technology by helping engineers develop effective solutions in combination with high-fidelity techniques such as machine learning, high-performance computing, and other cutting-edge methods.

CFD24 is a three-day event where keynote addresses and technical speakers will discuss how CFD is enabling the engineering community to meet ever-evolving targets for performance, efficiency, and sustainability. CFD24 will cover a range of critical topics, including hydrogen modeling, battery thermal runaway, electric motor cooling, and more. The conference will feature speakers from prominent companies such as Ferrari, Volvo Group Trucks Technology, Daimler Truck AG, Toyota Motor North America, and Intelligent Energy, as well as prestigious research organizations like IFP Energies nouvelles, Argonne National Laboratory, and CMT - Clean Mobility & Thermofluids.

The first day of the conference will begin with a keynote from Marc Sens, Senior Vice President of Technology and Research at IAV GmbH, who will present on overcoming thermal propagation in battery packs. The second day of the conference will open with a keynote address by Federico Millo, Professor at Politecnico di Torino in Italy. Dr. Millo will discuss the essential role of CFD in developing the next generation of hydrogen internal combustion engines. On the final morning, Convergent Science Co-Owner Keith Richards will give a keynote detailing the new features in CONVERGE and how they enable users to solve a broad range of challenging engineering problems.

At CFD24, we’re excited to be showcasing simulations in critical research and development areas like hydrogen and alternative energy, aerospace propulsion systems, batteries and electrification, AI and machine learning, advanced mobility solutions, reacting flows, healthcare and biomedical applications, and more.” says Kelly Senecal, Co-Owner and Vice President of Convergent Science. “We want attendees to see firsthand what CFD can do and leave empowered to apply the techniques they learned to their own engineering projects.”

To increase accessibility, CFD24 will be hosted virtually without registration fees. The conference will also offer both live and on-demand options for viewing the technical presentations. In this capacity, CFD24 opens its doors to anyone interested in CFD, enabling a global audience to participate, learn, and engage.
