£10m Zero Emission Propulsion: competition briefing event - collaborative R&D
17 October 2022

Innovate UK has shared the following event. Innovate UK invites you to attend this briefing and networking event for the Zero Emission Propulsion funding, part of the new Net Zero Mobility Programme. When: 20/10/22 10.00 - 12.00 Where: online The Net Zero Mobility Programme aims to advance innovative propulsion technologies that will enable the movement of people and goods from one location to another through seamless, safe, net zero, connected cost-effective, accessible and reliable means.
This will be achieved by supporting highly innovative technology solutions at the low to mid-technology readiness level. The programme builds on previous mode-specific mobility programmes by creating a mode-agnostic platform whereby organisations are encouraged to apply their knowledge and capability to adjacent transport sectors including automotive, aerospace, maritime and rail. Further information on the programme, the £10m collaborative R&D competition and aligned activities will be provided with the opportunity for Q&A with Innovate UK leads. Important programme details - The Net Zero mobility programme will focus on two areas:
- Zero Emission Propulsion – maximise UK content in supply chains - Digital – exploration of opportunities created with greater autonomy and connectivity
- Innovate UK will invest £10m in technologies and businesses to develop highly
disruptive future zero emission propulsion technologies for all modes within the transport sector and demonstrate investable business models - Highly innovative collaborative projects will demonstrate significant improvements in high risk and highly disruptive propulsion technologies through proof of concept to validation in relevant environments
- Opening for applications in October, Innovate UK is looking to support around 15 projects of between £250k and £1.5m and lasting for 18 months
- There are a number of programmes supporting the decarbonisation of transport, and this
intervention is intended to be complimentary rather than duplicate existing support - As well as funding, successful projects will benefit from:
- Cohort events sharing learnings with this cohort of companies and other relevant communities - IUK EDGE business tailored support, focused on areas such new markets or access to finance - Opportunities to showcase at domestic and international events
