WMAHSN/MAA – Medical / Health Drones – Expression of Interest

08 September 2022

WMAHSN and MAA have shared the following:

Medical / Health Drones – Expression of Interest.

Drones and autonomous vehicles are on the cusp of becoming part of a technological and logistics revolution with the potential of becoming part of everyday life over the next decade, following the approval of driverless cars to join our streets.

We are interested in hearing from companies and innovators that have or are in the process of developing drones and autonomous vehicles for use within the health and care sector as well as first responders (Ambulance, Police, Fire etc.). We are also interested in companies and technology that fits within this space but possibly in different sectors e.g. land surveying and environmental monitoring etc. Lastly, we are interested to know about people involved in this space i.e. Those that are working in this space professionally / commercially or are interested in working in this space (our future pilots, technologists and engineers or those that are training and certifying pilots / companies for commercial activities).

The WMAHSN with Medilink Midlands and the Midlands Aerospace Alliance are developing plans to look at this fledgling sector and we wish to gauge activity and interest from anyone in this sector not only from the West Midlands and Midlands but from across the whole of the UK.

If there is sufficient interest and activity then we will be looking to bring Companies (potential users / providers), technologists and our universities who are developing the people to design, develop, operate and service these technologies and services together. So please tell us about yourselves, your technology / service and your ambitions.

As an incentive to tell us a little bit about yourself and your work / interest in this new business sector, we are working on plans for potential funding and support in relation to health drone activity. So, make sure you’re the first to hear about this when its launched and send us your contact info with an indication of what you would like to do or may have done so far.
