Quality Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join our team based in Abingdon. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 – £32,000 per annum.

Zircotec specialises in heat management. We are experts in plasma-spray processing and thermal management to a wide range of industries. We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a high growth company with a rapidly expanding team delivering innovative products and engineered solutions to our customer base.

Working hours: 08:15 – 17:00 Monday – Thursday and 08:15 – 16:00 on Fridays (with a 45 minute lunch break)  

Key responsibilities of our Production Operative – Heat Shielding:

To perform 8D, 5 why, Ishikowa and PPS solutions to ensure issues are not repeated
To implement improvements to production processes that lead to overall increases in product quality
To ensure all concerns are contained with robust countermeasures in place
To drive continuous improvement activities across the business
To produce weekly reports and monitor these against KPIs
To maintain and improve the QMSTo support 3rd Party audits and customer site visits
To satisfy customer expectations about the products quality
To participate in APQP and PPAPsTo deliver Quality training throughout operations
To line manage the Quality inspection team
To be an active member of the Zircotec team attending meetings and advising on business decisions
To be a role model and lead by example  

Our ideal Production Operative – Heat Shielding:

Significant relevant Quality Management/Manufacturing experience
To have active Quality knowledgeStrong customer and supplier relationship experience
Excellent knowledge of APQP and PPAP’s
Line management experience
Good ISO and IATF knowledge
Qualified internal auditor
