MIA member Ricardo secures contract to supply transmissions to world-leading motorsport programme

Leveraging its multiple world-championship winning expertise, Ricardo will deliver its largest ever motorsport transmission programme for one of the world’s largest, most prestigious and longest-standing single make racing series.
 
As the trusted engineering partner for world-championship winning and world-record breaking motorsport teams for over 40 years, Ricardo Performance Products has today announced it has been selected by a major European OEM to manufacture and supply transaxles for one of the world’s most popular customer single-make race series.
 
The multi-million pound contract will see Ricardo supporting the entire transmission requirement - including spares - during the five-year programme, for the race series which is presented in numerous international markets in which the premium sports car manufacturer is active. All cars are based on the current road going model, factory-built to a racing specification and standard.

Ricardo will manufacture, assemble and supply the entire international requirement of 6-speed competition transaxles from the Performance Products facility at the Ricardo Midlands Technical Centre in Leamington Spa. Ricardo’s motorsport team will also be responsible for the management of the supply chain, including the selection of long-term partners providing specialist outsourced processes. Ricardo will also assume responsibility as the sole source supplier of all spares for the transaxle for the duration of the programme.
