MIA announces 2025 Business Excellence Award winners

The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) has confirmed the winners of the 2025 MIA Business Excellence Awards. These prestigious awards, which feature seven categories, recognise achievements and successes from all levels of the UK’s thriving motorsport and high-performance engineering industry.

The Awards were presented on Wednesday evening, at the MIA’s annual Awards Dinner, upon the close of Day 1 of CTS, the UK’s leading Motorsport Engineering & Technology Show. Taking place at the Silverstone Wing, the Dinner attracted more than 350 industry professionals from across the globe. The evening offered a valuable chance for guests to connect and grow their network in a relaxed and entertaining setting before the winners were announced.

For over 30 years, the MIA has operated as the only global trade body for the motorsport industry. The MIA created and represents the UK’s Motorsport Valley® community, centred in and around Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix, which accounts for combined annual revenues of £16billion and employs over 50,000 highly-skilled individuals.

Chris Aylett (Chief Executive Officer, MIA) said:

“I am delighted that our MIA members and many friends have come together for this very special annual occasion, where we recognise the outstanding achievements of those in our motorsport industry.

“The MIA Business Excellence Awards allow our members to reward those who have made a significant contribution to our industry. The calibre of the winners and nominees tonight demonstrates the outstanding levels of excellence which our members reach year on year. Of course, success in the competitive world of motorsport consistently demands such a high-quality performance from all involved.”

The Service to the Industry Award was partnered by Goodridge and presented to the BTCC

The British Touring Car Championship is one of the best-loved, most illustrious and famous motor racing championships in the world, and is the largest motor racing championship in the UK. Since its inception in 1958, the BTCC has attracted and captivated millions of fans both in the UK and around the world, boasting the third-longest continuous history in motorsport, behind only Formula 1 and NASCAR.

The MIA New Markets Award was partnered by Fortescue Zero and presented to MGI Engineering

MGI Engineering, with deep roots in motorsport and a proven track record in lightweight structures, propulsion, and autonomous systems, MGI Engineering continues to expand its capabilities across aerospace, defence, and sustainable mobility.

MGI focuses on maximising client value by delivering projects on time and within budget, using a collaborative approach that builds long-term partnerships.

This award was presented by Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems and collected by Halo by Orthene

Launched in 2024 but backed by 50 years of expertise, Halo P1 is quickly establishing itself as the “go-to” racing brake fluid of choice for professional racing worldwide. Its crowning achievement in 2025 was helping Chip Ganassi Racing win the Indianapolis 500 and secure its 17th NTT INDYCAR SERIES Championship.

The MIA Technology & Innovation Award was partnered by Ricardo and presented to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing

Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) is the company within Toyota Motor Corporation that manages all of its motorsport activities and develops technologies for the Gazoo Racing sub-brand of Toyota's sports and performance-oriented production road cars.

TGR has been extremely successful in a wide range of racing series and secured many World Championship titles – including in WRC and WEC – and several overall wins at the Le Mans 24h and the Paris Dakar. Motorsport at Toyota is not just about marketing; it must have social relevance and help ‘Make ever better cars’ for a sustainable mobility future, therefore TGR has been tasked to apply the motorsport development power to H2 ICE powertrains. A GR Corolla is already racing in Japan with liquid hydrogen, and the next step is GR LH2 Racing Concept, to pave the way to a hydrogen future at Le Mans and in WEC.

The MIA Teamwork award was partnered by Ridge and presented to McLaren Formula 1 Team. The award was collected by Alan Gow on behalf of McLaren Formula 1 Team.

McLaren is one of F1’s most successful motorsport teams of all time, known for both its engineering excellence and outstanding teamwork. With the experience of Zak Brown, wise team leadership from Andrea Stella and consistency of their two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, McLaren Formula 1 Team consolidated its stature in 2025.

Its dominant campaign, based on faultless teamwork, recently secured them their second consecutive Constructor’s Formula One World Championship.

The MIA Business of the Year Award with annual sales under £5million was partnered by Multimatic and presented to DC Electronics.

Established in 1997, DC Electronics has transitioned from being a wiring harness house to one of the world’s leading suppliers of custom electric power steering systems. With production facilities in both the UK and USA, the company’s products can now be found across the globe in Motorsport, Military, Marine and automotive applications.

The MIA Business of the Year Award with annual sales over £5million was partnered by Xtrac and presented to Formula E.

Ever since becoming the first fully electric, FIA-sanctioned world championship, Formula E has led the way in electric racing, globally.

2025 saw the Championship surpass, cumulatively, 500 million viewers. This re-affirms its status as motorsport’s most sustainable series, which has just extended its FIA partnership even further, to 2048.
