09 March 2020

MIA member Titan has prepared the following press release.

St Neots based Titan, celebrated 12 months of continued growth and development in the manufacturing sector, being coined Manufacturer of the Year at the Insider’s Made in Central and East England Awards 2020.

The prestigious event, hosted at the Jurys Inn, Milton Keynes, was attended by high calibre and ambitious manufacturing businesses from the Central and Eastern regions. Representing Titan at the glamorous awards evening were employees from the manufacturing team; Hardeep Bahra and Svetlana Kuca, and Directors; Stuart Rossin, Paul Littledyke and Michael Sheridan.

Announced in January 2020, Titan was shortlisted among a top-class range of manufacturing businesses for the Manufacturer of the Year Award (turnover under £25m), as well as being shortlisted for the Automotive Award. Criteria for the awards required businesses to make an outstanding contribution to the manufacturing sector in the region. Titan now goes on to the Made in UK Final Awards which will be held in Liverpool on 11th June at the Titanic Hotel.

The award closes out a huge year for the business, following huge investment in the growth of the business, including upgraded premises, purchase of new machining centres, addition of new manufacturing processes, and extensive R & D into automotive technologies.

Speaking after the event, Sales Director Stuart Rossin commented: “This award is the perfect way to celebrate the past 12 months in the business, and I am so pleased for all the employees at Titan to receive this recognition.  We are so busy pushing on and moving forward, that it is great to be able to acknowledge what we have achieved together.  Of course, we could not achieve this success without the support of our loyal base of suppliers, and clients, whom are the reason we hold ourselves to such high standards.”

George Lendrum, Managing Director was not able to attend the event in person, but took the opportunity to hold a companywide meeting to thank all employees back at Titan’s manufacturing facility earlier this week.  “The entire company is delighted to have been recognised at these awards, particularly as the calibre of businesses nominated was so high.  We have achieved great things in the past 12 months and are all excited for what the next 12 months hold for the business, I am proud of the whole team at Titan.”

With roots in motorsport competition, Titan started life building racing cars almost 50 years ago.  Still servicing professional motorsport businesses with high performance engineering solutions, the business has developed into a Tier 1 and 2 automotive supplier, working with the most prestigious brands in the UK automotive industry.  Titan has been working with other partners to develop technology for the driverless vehicle market, providing specialised knowledge in steering systems.  In addition to the new machining centres, Titan installed a range of 5-axis machines at the Cambridgeshire based manufacturing facility and is also developing the use of 3D printing to reduce the time projects take from concept to production.
