LONDON, OCTOBER 28, 2019 – Catherine Bond Muir, the CEO of W Series, the new single-seater championship for female drivers only, has been appointed to the board of Motorsport UK, the national membership organisation and governing body for four-wheel motorsport in the UK.

Motorsport UK, a founding member of the world governing body, the FIA, is responsible for the development of motorsport in the UK and embraces a diverse community that includes 720 affiliated motor clubs, 30,000 competition licence holders and 10,000 volunteer marshals – as well as fans and enthusiasts nationwide.

“I am very proud to accept this invitation, and to represent the interests of everyone in the UK engaged in our fabulous motorsport world,” said Catherine Bond Muir.  “After our first year at W Series I have not only worked with a great many talented and committed female drivers but I have also met huge numbers of passionate and female fans from across the country, and I will be working particularly hard on behalf of each and every one of them to make sure their voices are heard.”

W Series, the new FIA-sanctioned international single-seater motor racing series for the world’s best female drivers, was first launched in October 2018 and completed its inaugural race season in August this year.  It aims to fast-track women to the highest levels of professional motorsport.
