Launching the Clean Futures Catalyst

Helping transport focused businesses and supply chains transition to a sustainable future.

The Clean Futures Catalyst launch is a key milestone in the region’s drive to be at the forefront of cleantech transportation innovation and manufacturing.

This half-day event will feature speakers from Jaguar Land Rover, Great British Railways Transition Team, West Midlands Combined Authority, and Transport for West Midlands, as well as transport R&D and electrification skills experts from Coventry University. There will be an opportunity to network with funders and development organisations, and engage in a panel Q&A session.

The West Midlands has a rich heritage in transport, development and manufacturing, and it is important to sustain economic growth in the sector as it transitions away from fossil fuels towards cleantech. The Clean Futures Catalyst aims to help the region’s businesses operating in the transport sector to transition to net zero – whilst increasing the region’s capacity for growth.

The event is an opportunity to meet with industry experts and similar businesses who operate in the transport supply chains.

This event is hosted in collaboration with the Innovative Transport Working Group (ITWG) which is run by Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) in partnership with the Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands (IAWM).

Clean Futures is one of the 5 West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Innovation Accelerators, funded by Innovate UK with a total of £33 million, set up to help drive forward the West Midlands Plan for Growth by supporting and accelerating innovation in cleantech, medtech and digital.

The Clean Futures programme is led by the Connected Places Catapult and supported by Coventry University clean growth R&D specialists and the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation (BCIMO).
