Executive Survey Report 2024

Manufacturers have entered 2024 with increased optimism as the majority of firms (52.7%) now see the UK as a more competitive place to locate their activities, compared to just 31% holding this view one year ago, while one-third believe they are now moving ahead of European rivals. This is according to Make UK and PwC’s Executive Survey 2024, published today, which polled more than 200 senior manufacturing executives.

Its findings highlight the opportunities for firms arising from new products, digital technologies and expansion into new markets, although warns of a continued wariness of the risks around access to skills, and energy and employment costs, as well as the threat to competitiveness posed by the economic might of the US, India and China.
