The Border Operating Model - Get ready for upcoming changes

Institute of Exports have published the following.


Full customs controls and checks will commence on 1 January 2022 for goods entering Great Britain from the EU. 

The UK government has recently confirmed that it will not postpone this deadline. This means that import customs declarations will be mandatory from 1 January 2022 and can no longer be delayed for such goods. 

You can complete these declarations yourself or use an agent BUT even if using an agent, the legal responsibility for accuracy of the data included falls to the importer.
