Prime Minister sets out new ‘County Deals’ in Levelling Up speech

BEIS have made the following announcement.

Speaking from the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) in Coventry on 15th July, Boris Johnson set out his vision on how the government would deliver on the central purpose of his premiership – to level up and unite the whole of the United Kingdom. 

As part of the speech, the Prime Minister set out the integral role for government in helping to deliver the levelling up agenda, including plans to empower strong local leaders by taking a more flexible approach to devolution, with new ‘County Deals’, invest in infrastructure and connectivity and more.
