EXPERIENCED FULL TIME PARTS & OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Nicholson Mclaren Engines Ltd – Wokingham, Berkshire


Nicholson McLaren Engines have a full-time vacancy for an experienced Parts and Office 
Administrator to support their parts department and daily office functions for our engine build shop. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in the motorsport or automotive industry, they will be conscientious and proactive, have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable working individually or as part of a small team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is predominately office based however there will be an element of driving required to visit clients or suppliers.

Key responsibilities of this position will include –

Stock Control – order planning, placing orders with suppliers, controlling stock inventory, controlling stock levels, picking & processing parts for in house projects, limited amount of retail sales.

Maintaining risk assessments and health and safety procedures.

You will also be required to support daily office functions that include - admin support, data 
processing, liaising with clients and suppliers via telephone / email.

ABOUT YOU

Key requirements for this position include –

• The candidate must have a flexible approach to work.
• Numeric accuracy and attention to detail is paramount. 
• Computer Literacy with experience in Word, Excel & Parts/Component Software.
• A good telephone manner is essential.
• Hold a Full / Clean Driving License.
• Have a can-do attitude.

Experienced Engine Builder

THE COMPANY

Nicholson Mclaren Engines Ltd – based near Wokingham, Berkshire is a name synonymous with engine building and engine development since the 1970s.

Due to continued growth, we currently have a vacancy for a keen individual to support and work alongside our senior engineers in our modern engine build workshop.

The successful candidate will be focused with a keen eye for attention to detail and able to maintain a consistently high standard when building performance ICE engines.

You will be experienced in this industry and possess the ability to work alone or in partnership with other members of the team as required.

You will possess an understanding of engine fundamentals and engine characteristics whilst being fully experienced in the practice of working on high performance engines at a highly professional level.

This position represents a unique, fantastic opportunity for a conscientious, enthusiastic individual to join our skilled, friendly team.

Hours: Full-Time 40 Hours per week. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete disassembly and rebuild of high- performance internal combustion engines.

You will be required to: -

• Have previous engine building experience.
• Be confident in taking on a complete engine strip and rebuild to a very high standard.
• Possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of engine characteristics.
• Possess the ability to calculate cam/ignition timing, compression ratios etc.
• Be familiar with using specialist tooling required for measuring/inspection.
• Read & understand technical drawings.
• PC literate.
• Capable of developing a build book/report writing.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Self-motivated, tidy and organised.
• Very good attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work as a team member or confident alone.
• Must have own tools and transport.
