Bowler looking to immediately fill 3 positions, following recent expansion plans and CSP 575 project

Bowler is an internationally renowned and successful motorsport company that is immensely proud of its history of British engineering values and roots. As part of their expansion plans and following the recent press announcement of their CSP 575 project they are immediately looking to fill three exiting new positions.  

Initially for a 6 month contract period these roles will primarily support the continued engineering of the CSP 575 programme through to launch and also other exciting projects already in development.

They are looking for people who are passionate and excited about being part of a fast moving, flexible motorsport company, who can deliver results, work closely with a highly motivated and experienced team of motorsport professionals.  A positive can do attitude will be needed with the encouragement to challenge existing thinking in a productive and engaging manner.
These new roles will be based in our Motorsport home in Belper, Derby.

Chassis Engineer

Lead the engineering, development and testing of our patented CSP chassis system, including suspension, brakes and wheels.  Previous experience in these areas in a motorsport or automotive environment is essential.

Lead Engineer 

Lead the engineering, development, testing and introduction of new accessories to expand their growing customer demand for motorsport accessories, and to support theirfuture vehicle programmes.

Role requirements for the above 2 roles:

Development and delivery of solutions to meet the defined programme requirements
Manage the design, development and testing activity to meet the project schedule
Responsible for the technical details ensuring accuracy and alignment to the programme requirements
Responsible for project delivery to meet business objectives
Deliver the plan meeting Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives. 
Manage the change request process and cost forecasting to meet programme milestones
Design test plans with detailed planning through the development stages

Experience:

Experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a team environment. Working alongside Sales and Production
Experience delivering automotive components and systems
A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes 
Previous programme delivery experience, with strong influencing and engagement skills

CAD Engineer 

This role will develop new products for current and new the vehicle programmes. It will involve the creation of detailed CAD geometry to enable the successful delivery of all the programmes.
This will include liaising with the Lead engineers and the manufacturing team to ensure clear details and controls are in place for all the components for the programmes

Role requirements:

Development and delivery of CAD solutions to meet the defined customer requirements
Manage the CAD activity to minimise the project duration
Responsible for the technical details being accurate and aligned to the customer needs
Adherence to the overall technical approach
Project delivery status on time to programme needs
Support the concept development and problem resolution with the use of virtual engineering tools
Support and assist Engineers in defining the products robustly and capture the details in the drawing and 3D models.

Experience:

Proficient in Catia V5 3D and Drafting.
Proficient IT skills with significant experience of using virtual engineering tools
Technical and practical knowledge of Vehicle Engineering commodities
Previous programme delivery experience, with influencing and engagement skills
Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
