APPRENTICE REDUNDANCY SUPPORT
The coronavirus outbreak has caused some organisations to make redundancies, leaving experienced, work-ready apprentices without an employer. The government have launched the Redundancy Support Service for Apprentices, which gives them the advice they need and helps them to find new opportunities. If you are considering making an apprentice redundant, or are an apprentice being made redundant, please follow this link to see guidance on support available. EMPLOYERS CAN HIRE EXPERIENCED APPRENTICES NOW For apprentices facing redundancy, working with a new organisation could give them the chance to complete their apprenticeship. Please view this guidance about hiring an apprentice who has been made redundant to find out more.
If you hire redundant apprentices, you could be eligible for incentive payments of up to £2,000 for hiring a new apprentice. This is applicable for apprentices hired between 1 August 2020 and 31 January 2021 - no matter what size your organisation is. For more information on incentive payments please click here.
