Fast growing SPAL Automotive stands ready for Brexit
11 March 2019

SPAL Automotive UK has reported record end of year results despite the prevailing gloom and uncertainty surrounding the prospect of Brexit. According to UK managing director Matthew Morris, strong inroads into the agricultural equipment aftermarket sector and continued growth in the automotive sector largely due to SPAL's new generation of brushless products for hybrid and electric cooling has generated phenomenal sales delivering growth of 25% in the UK.
"As part of a major manufacturing group based in Italy, we're mindful of the potential impact of Brexit on our customers, particularly if there is a supply chain interruption at the borders as a result of a 'no deal' exit," he said. "Therefore, we've made forward provision to ensure that we can guarantee continuity of supply after March 29th. Excellent performance during 2018 has enabled us to make significant investment in additional stock to be held in the UK and we have also secured additional warehousing capacity. We're taking a pragmatic view, whatever happens we will be prepared."
