We're delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the category BEIS sector representation of the year at the Trade Association Forum's (TAF) Best Practice Awards 2018.

Now in their sixteenth year, this prestigious awards ceremony is the opportunity for TAF members to showcase their hard work and achievements during the last 12 to 18 months.

The department of business, energy and industrial strategy sponsored award is one of the most competitive categories in the Trade Association Forum’s annual awards. This award will be given to a Trade Association or an alliance of Trade Associations that, in the opinion of the judges, has led the best representative action for their sector during the previous year.

The MIA’s entry concerns the initiative led by Chris Aylett which set about ensuring the spread of comprehensive and clear information on the Vnuk ruling made by the Court of Justice of the European Union in September 2014.

Chris said: “To be shortlisted is recognition of the MIA’s determination to set about ensuring the spread of comprehensive and clear information on the ruling, as well as identifying the methods that businesses could work together to impact the outcome where possible. Our objective was clear: to pursue activities that would galvanise a community to vote against the ruling and raise awareness to a much broader audience. We’re very proud of the way that our members came together to tackle this issue and our entry for this award is a thank you to them for their considerable contribution.”
